Join us in celebrating Earth Day by volunteering to beautify Mianus River Park on Saturday, April 26. We will join the Junior League of Stamford Norwalk for the clean-up which will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. JLG Members will then plan to go for lunch the members of JL Stamford Norwalk. This is a Town of Greenwich Event.   Volunteers are encouraged to meet at the Cognewaugh Street entrance of the park. Please note that parking is limited, so carpooling is recommended.

The planned activities will include: planting trees and native species at the entrance of the trail, planting additional trees along the trails, removing invasive winged euonymus species as necessary, lining the trails with stray logs and larger branches and clearing debris as needed.

The Town of Greenwich Parks Department will provide shovels, hand shears, rakes, hand saws, and garbage bags. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own tools if they have them..

The Mianus River Park spans a total of 220 acres, with 109.7 acres located in the Mianus/Upper Cos Cob neighborhood of Greenwich and 110.3 acres in nearby Stamford. The Friends of Mianus River Park, along with the Junior League of Greenwich and the Stamford Norwalk Junior League, are once again supporting the Earth Day Beautification event.
